In the far-western region of the country, human rights situation remains concerning compared to other areas in the Human Development Index. The commission established amidst internal armed conflict has been facing challenges in monitoring and researching the overall human rights situation in all sectors of the country from the center. With the expansion of the commission's capacity according to the program, gradually reaching out to the economic and technical support of donor agencies such as the European Union, UNDP, etc., the commission's reach and capacity expansion program has been implemented, leading to the establishment of regional offices and eventually provincial offices. The establishment of a regional office in the Far Western Province, in line with the main responsibility of protecting and promoting the human rights of ordinary citizens, was necessary. With this objective in mind, a regional office was established in the Far Western Province on the 17th of Falgun, 2062 BS. This Far Western Province office has designated Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dadeldhura, Doti, Achham, Baitadi, Bajhang, Bajura, and Darchula as its working areas, covering a total of 9 districts. Apart from making final decisions on policy matters and disputes, the Commission's regional office in this province carries out all other activities related to the protection and promotion of human rights.
